McLaren P1 aims for First Place for the "Best drivers car"

McLaren P1 is a result of 20 years or racing and road car heritage. McLaren Executive Chairman Ron Dennis said ‘Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with the McLaren P1 is to redefine it once again.’.

McLaren, which has 20 years of heritage, has produced world-renowned sports cars for the road such as the McLaren F1, which was launched in 1992. The F1 car is regarded as one of the most iconic sports cars of the modern age. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is the most successful supercar ever in its price bracket, having sold twice as many cars as it’s nearest carbon-based rival.

McLaren has now moved from these successful automotive masterpieces to launching a new car company that will design, develop, and distribute a range of high performance, highly efficient and technologically innovative sports cars throughout the globe. This is the year of the big one. The offspring of the F1, a motor masterpiece the P1.

The McLaren P1 follows in the footsteps of the classic McLaren F1 as the ‘ultimate car’ offering. The name ties in with Grand Prix racing. P1 means first place – and McLaren has 180 GP victories in its 46 year Formula One history. The P1 without a doubt is the most anticipated car of 2013. McLaren don’t aim to be the fastest, but to be the best, “The best drivers car”. However it will certainly not be slow! With it producing 600bhp per tonne, and with an already amazing 12c v8 again but with more Umph!. Combined with an innovative KERS hybrid boost system this will generate a power output of over 800bhp.

The P1 is a without a doubt is far more advanced than any other road car. With its rear spoiler, which folds so flat its as if the spoiler isn’t there to reduce drag. On Board the P1 has a clever system called active aero, which helps generate 600kg of downforce! But all this does come at a price of £700,000. However the looks the technology and the brilliance is well worth it.

As well as developing a cutting edge car, McLaren are adopting cutting edge advertising with its 3D Interactive model for smartphones and tablets.
